I received the following email yesterday. Hi, I am writing to inform you of some upcoming Regional Roads Victoria works in the Alpine area, including on the Great Alpine Road, the Bogon High Plains Road and Tawonga Gap Road. These works are part of a $32.8 million statewide investment to prevent landslips on key tourist routes and will include renewing and replacing more than 50 culverts across the Falls Creek, Mt Hotham and Mt Buller regions. These works will commencing on the Tawonga Gap Road on Monday 15 February. Work at approximately 20 sites along the Bogong High Plains Road and the Great Alpine will start late February and are expected to be completed in June, weather permitting. There will be changed traffic conditions while the work is completed. Speeds will be reduced and traffic management in place with lane closures as needed. Delays of 5-10 minutes per site, and occasionally up to 15 minutes, are expected. For more information, please see the attached bulletin. Please forward this bulletin to anyone you feel may be interested in these works. There was quite a delay on the Kiewa Valley highway heading towards Tawonga on Saturday morning on 20/2/21. The Kiewa valley Highway is being resurfaced. I hope they get it all done before Falls Creek opens for the ski season.
