You have a valid point....but shortly the Queens Birthday Long Weekend will see them closed.Any snow falls after then will only be marked by footprints or plank marks .

May is a funny month in the State forests & NPs - especially for 4WD trips...

One day it can be like a cool summer’s day (firm after a couple of dry weeks) and the next day it’s like winter?

Mt Skene was similar before (I understand) a lower winter gate was added on the Jamieson side. (Or did DELWP just start clamping down after the hut burnt down?)

Not the nicest XC dodging Jeep tracks in 30-40 cm of fairly fresh cover! o_O Drivers sure enjoyed it! :D

Lots of drizzle here since mid afternoon. Had a few solid showers in the last 2 hours.
Looks like a decent band incoming from the south.

Heading vaguely toward Bawbs, that band might just nick the eastern burbs & Dandes?

Sorry should be less alpine focussed on this thread!

I note Melbourne is a ‘mild’ ~ 12C - I don’t see much of a temperature drop with last mini-front.
Not Sth Vic & coast anyway?

More work needs to be done to promote more drainage from Keppels 4x4 track and to put more crushed rock into the surface. The visitor numbers here for off road vehicles even when we approach a QBWeekend lock diwn require further road works to reduce road deterioration.Families, bushwalkers etc like to see the snowfalls....so road works need to be done to cater for the need.Ooops weather forum !! Well it’s misty and still in Glen Iris ......Sun is trying to break out.....CC is probably about to give a weather report based on his morning ride!

When are the next systems set to impact Victoria!Last one was good .

Obviously it’s been too warm for any further snow falls....shows over at Lake Mt for the moment by the appearances of cams!Mr T has judged the situation well!

Yes....Baw Baw and all adjacent mountains should be all 2,000meters as a minimum....we have been sold short in a geological context!

yes, or move the damp (coastal) weather inland to Bogong? Either or?
The former plan is better/closer to city! ;)

A little damp on the roads and light showers on the way.
Radar looked far worse than it really was, although it did look like the CBD got more than the inner east.
Perhaps a shower or two to come, I'd be surprised it it amounts to more than a 1mm.

Appears to be a layer of stratocumulus over Melb and suburbs..bit milder on commute to western suburbs and a gentle breeze blowing.Melb drivers are not not improving!Fruitcakes on the freeways and every which ways!
