Definitely! Colder air now getting involved in the mix so rainshield has broken down. Moderate rain here and temperature down to 6 degrees.
Radar is misleading. Really only a short period of light rain here in Canterbury.

Some fairly heavy rain since 7:30pm only just stopped at 11:30pm. Don't often get much rain from the NW, but this was solid. Temperature took a big hit too.

Actually no big deal, the wet weather gear works very well, even the shoes a pretty dry.
I'd say a fair bit of that rain fell in the the 3 hours from 6am.Doesn't show up very well in the photo but there was definitely some sleet in the last heavy shower in Olinda. 5 degrees at 4pm.

We've had a decent drop on the north east fringe today, solid first up early morning, and very windy. Too windy to have a fire the last few days (we sometimes get puffs of smoke blow down the chimney when it's very windy). All up about 6mm of rain the last 24 hours.

It's as if a switch was flicked on June 1. For a nice change, winter got the memo! The hakeas are loving it.
For a few hours this afternoon, the sun came out, with blue skies to our east. You wouldn't have thought it's the same day!
Plenty of ominous clouds to our west and south though. These brought some light, fairly brief showers later this afternoon. It's super chilly out, currently on 8 C.Blardy cold day on the rock today (Mt Arapiles), and mostly sunny and only a few brief showers.

Just drove back from the CBD, only spits until Lysterfield, then heavy showers over the last hr. Up to 20mm approx here 24hrs. 6.3deg. My 40mm week is looking a bit light on considering 35mm since Friday, and at least another 10 coming I'd think.
Blardy cold this morning. Cold wind that cuts right through with a few horizontal light showers. My fingers slowly thawing out on the hot coffee mug! Chewing through the wood this winter keeping the house warm.Another 15mm overnight brings our MTD to 80mm and only one week of the month gone and with plenty more to come we should crack 100mm by the end of the week.

Apparently if the forecast for the next week holds, it will be Melbourne’s coldest start to winter since 1949!Another partly cloudy, cold day at Mt Araps. It was one of those days when you're constantly taking on and off the down jacket depending if the sun was out or behind the clouds.
Looked like all the showers were falling east over the Gramps.
A little warmer this morning a drier too. Although radar shows the rain belt still getting light showers.
Had a few dry hours early this morning, and definitely warmer, but drizzle was back before 9am.

Local roads not coping with the water. Lake on the main road not far from us is hiding a rather large pothole.

Wow! 85 in the can now after the constant light rain today.
(The killer pothole on Wellington rd will be that size soon. )
24mm in the can for June so far. A bit more than expected as we don't get much from these systems. 510mm year to date, ground plenty wet.
Wind has really picked up. It's not stopping the RAAF Roulettes from doing their training flights. If it was more pleasant out, I'd get some pics.

Weather a bit ordinary this morning.....lets hope electricity grid doesnot crash in Eastern Australia or we will perish due to the cold.
Cold wet and windy (southerly) out here in the northeast fringes, although it’s actually currently sunny with blue skies. Won't last long judging by the dark clouds coming from the southwest.
The Currawongs are singing to each other across the yard from one end to the other, flying around back and forth as often happens when it’s been raining, or about to.
Rinse and repeat this past week or more. Ideal snow-season weather. We’ve had 61mm of good soaking rain since this day in May, but still nothing like the totals that some parts have received. Two of those mls have fallen this past day, 28mm in the last week.
Thanks @wernerk apart from a couple of deciduous trees for specific purposes, it’s an all-native garden specifically to encourage and protect native birds, including loads of little ones, such as Silvereyes and Pardalotes, along with numerous Honeyeater species.
We lost quite a few plants over our very dry summer here. Now in the process of replenishing.
Correct, they're Pincushion Hakeas. Gorgeous flowers. We have a couple of regular trees and a couple of weeping species of them.Jeez it's hard to keep up with the rain totals this week! I haven't emptied the nylex today but it looks like about 20mm in it, on top of 25mm yesterday, means we've had 135mm this week!
Going to be a 200mm month at this rate!

Daughter had her car serviced last week, they obviously replaced the wipers with wrong bloody model as they flew off the wiper arms this evening in Carnegie. Dad to the rescue and I got soaked and frozen getting them back on so she could make it home.Similar threads
