Heavy rain woke me a few times overnight, so a little surprised to only have 7mm in the gauge...expected more.

Just got back from a drive between Bel Sth and Pakenham, lovely torrential drizzle in parts across the foothills. They seem to be sticking to the Berwick hills and south, once you get to Wellington Rd, gets significantly brighter. Just lacking a bit oif SW to give us anything significant here. Missed it by "this much"
Just getting our first brief glimpses of the sun after another 15mm overnight and this morning. MTD total now up to 183mm so still in with a chance of making 200mm if Sunday and Wednesday systems produce the goods.

Went the steak, local IGA does good Sun specials on eye fillet and scotch. Was pretty good! 4.5mm now, few more possible overnight. Seems to be lining up nicely for a bay stream. School holidays! Yay.. no early wakes.

Camped with our mate who had a Renault van (which we used to drive up each day), we took our Toyota coaster.
We had a flat battery Sat morning so needed a jump from the van which wasn't going anywhere with out a push as the mud was very slick!! Funny times.
Drizzle most of the way home, until nearly Coldstream, then we actually saw some sunshine.

About 13mm 24hr total. Pretty fog then weak sun, then drizzle etc. 6.6deg.Had a look through the binoculars at the Nylex and it's on 16mm, that takes our MTD to 199mm, one more to go!
Quite fresh this morning. Clearly a bit of rain over night, but the roads were mostly dry, especially the further west I went.

and yet the Yarra hasn't really risen that much and the ground around us is only just starting to look sodden
Holding a fair bit of water back up at the Upper Yarra dam perhaps? It's still below 70%, which I recall had something to do with some repair works being undertaken on the dam wall?
Pretty sodden up here. Roads are really suffering from the underground water.
Our two ducks are trashing the place. Having to lock them away a bit more than they are used too. (Lucky for them they are a few years old or they might have ended up as dinner.)
