Quite nice here this morning. Patches of blue sky, light breeze and already 8c !
Not quite as cold as yesterday, some broken overcast, although the sun is coming through now.
Clearly some very light showers / drizzle overnight, enough to make the roads slightly damp.
Actually quite a nice morning for a ride.
Back to looking mostly dry for the next 7-8 days.
Was some lovely sunrise in the city just after I got in, with some moisture in the air adding a glow. Now, half the city is shrouded in fog
Lots of wobbles in the models still. 18Z EC now showing about 5mm for Friday after 12Z run was showing less than a mm. Might not really know until the day.
Crispy 2 c morning at darebin parkland.
100m from home I saw a car very iced up. Fingers were a little hurty on the bike
Carlsruhe an interesting sight this morning....no ice warnings flashing on the Calder though.
Fog blanket lifted in Kyneton after dim sims at Carlsruhe Roadhouse....Blue sky....still.frost all over....windsock hanging limp.Not a cloud above!
Actually felt warmer than on Monday (2C on our AWS compared to 1). Quite a temperature inversion Ferny Creek was 7C while the city was 3C and low lying suburbs were around 1C.
A little ice and rime on the MYT pontoons through Cremone but nice riding weather.
6.1 at home on top of hill, felt warm!.. quickly down to about 3 in the valleys, decent frost in same places. but very pretty!
Heaviest frost of the year so far.
Trampoline was still white at 9:30 this morning when we left the house. Sun was shining bright but it still hadn't hit 4c.
Best mate down in Cockatoo sent us this pic when he left for work this morning. His van doors were frozen shut.
Low heavy cloud and 7.8deg here, don't like the chances of it getting much past 10 today with the cloud cover and almost zero wind.
6C at home and a little light drizzle over the CBD as I rode in.
Looks like the outer east, south east getting some rain from that rain coming in over the bays.

8.8 now, ground is wet, massive 0.25mm recorded! Tomorrow looking better than earlier in the week in terms of rainfall. I'll be on a train and then bus on the way to Hamilton tomorrow, looking forward to watching the green, wet, misty landscape drift on by.
The sun is out now (here in Port Melbourne). It's still quite chilly, but not bad out there either.
Radar shows some isolated showers over the bays and the east of the city.

Im slowly realizing that my memories of a damp, cold Belgrave weren't a childhood, pre-climate change fantasy.. I've wondered many times since I've been back here (14 months), but we do certainly get more consistent cloudy/showery weather than we did in Mitcham. Mitcham was great for bay streams, but Belgrave South is better in the WSW streams, and unlike Mitcham has much more variety and cold, damp, foggy days. It is very alpine in comparison.
And mouldy. Winter in Selby, in the shadow of Mt D is dark, damp and cold.
I'm lucky in that respect, on top of the hill and get lots of sun and wind. 8mm approx overnight, more since but not home to check. Very wet drive down to Malvern, on train now to City, pretty much stopped at Tooronga, but very wet roads.Light to moderate showers streaming through melbourne this morning.
Went up the road around 7 and it was dark and raining. Its back to that now, but had a short period there with blue sky and some smaller clouds catching the early morning rays of sun.
Quite heavy in some of the SE Burbs showers, just got caught in one going to get a coffee.
Fresh also, not surprised it is snowing in the hills.

except our western suburbs have the sea adjacent to them. However, the dunes, what's left of them, do not contribute anything to orographic lift, lol!
22mm at home since Thursday. Heavy burst around 7am this morning dropped 6mm in quick time. Out in Hamilton, still drizzly showers in between lovely sun. Tomorrow we've got a friends 40th out in Dunkeld, weather looking cool clear and perfect for an outdoor winter gathering at the foot of the Grampians! Will send some photos it's a ripping view.

Thick fog 'till mid-morning. that's burnt off now and it's sunny and still, kind of perfect for mid winter.Up above the fog here since sunrise and I just said to the wife this is as good a day as you would ever get in July.

Proper winter day today. Had a train/bus/train ride to and from CBD. VERRY glad I took the beanie and the face mask was for warmth as much as virus protection. Was very yuck, but in a good way. Better than just cold and grey. About 10mm at home, most late this arvo.
Wet roads on drive up Calder to Kyneton this morning....Mizzle around Woodend/Mt Macedon .....no ice or frost noticed.Wind velocity pretty tame.
It’s has continued cold and bleak all day....but stuff all rain as best I can make out.
Glad those new tyres are up front now...
Gloomy but dry this morning. The roads still damp in places.
