Just saw in fb snow down to 10 mile car park at Mt Donna Buang.
Thought it felt chilly this evening.
Cool! Yes temps around 7C is cool with rain, even in a Melbourne winter.
Hopefully this is good for Lake Mtn, BB and even Buller. Might miss the majors?
It certainly felt outside the cinema tonight. Next week looks much milder, despite the predicted rain.
Quite fresh with a few showers just before 6am. Roads wet again all the way to the office.

20mm here for the week. We never quite got a stream that we often do that really kicks the totals high! Either way, it's wet enough! Looks like a decent weekend outside anyway, especially up here where it won't get as cold overnight.
Bad luck Luken, we got 45mm here in Olinda taking our MTD to 108mm.
Certainly getting chilly out there as the sun sets, might get our first frost of this winter though frost is very rare here, always much colder down below at night.
Proper icy as expected. Car wasn’t in the garage last night. Thick ice and a little warming before we could go out for early breakfast. And most cars in the street we passed looked the same. 1c on the car on the way there and 2c when we came back before 9. Looks delightful though!!
It got down to -1.5 early this morning on the northeast outskirts. Not enough to freeze the birdbaths but an interesting formation of an ice stick in my experimental dish of water.
The cars left outside had a thin sheet of ice on them. Brand new car with 6km on the odometer that had lived all its so far brief life coddled indoors, came to its new home yesterday and had a rude awakening by spending its first night outdoors. It’s now wondering what the actual….?
It will spend tonight back indoors.

Went for a jog at lunch (midday) for 45mins and it was slowly getting more gusty, but it is warm, for the 2nd August.

Didn't seem to be so bad down in Canterbury. Not much evidence of the wind either, hardly any debris on the roads or paths.
A bit of a slog of a ride into work, expected the wind to be worse though. Very mild 13C currently. Looks like most of the metro area got around 1mm. Radar looks clear now and not expecting anything for the rest of the day either.

Turned out a largely fine day. Plenty of sunshine, 18C in the city, still a fairly brisk NW wind.
Was pretty amazing to hear thunder last night. Only got 0.4mm but the 3 previous nights were 6.2,5.2 and 11.7mm. Right now a pretty good storm for August passing me to my west and now SW. A shot from the back yard

A few drops of rain at lunchtime in Sunbury...not looking like much will happen....it is a bit darker looking in a westerly direction but Macedon Massive as CC refers seems to be blocking anything.

Looks like we'll get showers for the next 2 or 3 hours if the radar is to be believed.
We've had light showers blowing through since late morning, gauge is showing less that 1mm.
I blame myself for cleaning out road culvert and crossover before this 'event' so my drive doesn't wash away
