Vic School Holidays 19th Sep .....on

    Excluding major rain ( or snow) events anybody with local experience care to give a forcast about the cover in the school holidays?

    Hmmmm......no one is prepared to give a view about snow cover for this period.

    OK try this. Given they have around 1m currently Sun valley runs will probably be able to operate .


    Anyone disagree with that?

    Anything with snowmaking will be fine! Rock solid in the morning, nice by noon and slush in the arvo. Anything not on snowmaking will be patchy / closed. There will be no snow on the roads and ski in ski out will be very limited.

    Thats my prediction!

    Well the've operated for the last 5 out of 5 years hav't they?
    I,ve skied at Hotham the first week of Sept. school hols. for the last 5 years.

    OK thanks for the replies...we are tossing up between another trip to the snow or a road trip in the first week of the school holidays for my young family....

    "Excluding major rain" ... I'd be prepared to bet on very good cover for school holidays pretty close to current
    conditions. The major rain, if it eventuated, would be a worry.

    Even with a major rain event I'd reckon Falls would have the whole of the back open at that time. Its the best
    bet for beginner and intermediate skiing at that time. IMO.
