It was amazing going through this thread. Well done everyone.
I got a bit to add. The classic snowy river crossing, NSW.
Not enough Blue Lake. NSW.
Though I have a spot in my heart for the Victorian alps. Mt Buffalo. Only been there to climb but I'd really love to get down there in winter.

Love the tent pic...what a beauty!
Not so much ski-porn, but pretty pics none the less.
These ones are all from the Bluff.
Jawoo climbing up from Refrigerator Gap in a lot of fresh snow. On this day we managed to ride the whole way down the track to the lowest point of the road between 8 mile gap and Refridgerator gap.
All time fave. As you know, Sidey.
One internet to you good sir.

Have finally worked out (I think) how to post photos so thought I should show support for Vic by posting a couple of photos:
The last one's a gem. Whereabouts?

Cheers guys. The cornice shot is Feathertop on a good day.
Here are another couple of Feathertop shots:
Also a few shots from far southern Vic where I mostly hang out these days:
Amazing shots outdoors, makes me even more impatient for snow!
yeah me too. ill be in far south vic next school hols..... is that rufus in the last pic
Where? How often is it this skiable?
Mr - that is Mt Field (Rodway Range looking down onto the Tarn Shelf). Have seen it skiable several times in the past few years.
Mr Wendel - Marion's Lookout chute (you literally step/slide off the Overland Track). Only occasionally skiable. This was in 2010 and my brother and I were able to ski all the way down to Dove Lake. We were though on 130cm approach skis with mountaineering boots which made for hard going at the bottom when we hit the soft heath with non-consolidated snow (typical Tassie conditions). Admittedly I ended up snapping one of these skis 100m from the lake edge.
This gets my vote as the best pic to show the future of Australian skiing! Love the Ambo
What is the competition? Some awesome pics on here!!! How do I enter?
no real competition, just a place to post nice aussie pics.
equal first prize to everyone getting to see them
I know it doesn't really count, but first taste of the Main Range was at Christmas. I was a little surprised that there was still some snow around, and amused by the guy we saw on day 2 walking up towards Blue Lake with a pair of skis. Will get up there in the next couple of years at the right time of year I think!
Twynam (I think)
