Family has just locked in early for a Jan 2020 USA trip by buying MEL - LAX flights with Virgin. Agent convinced us to upgrade from Economy to Economy X at $200pp each way. Seemed a cheap way to get guaranteed decent legroom (and a faster checkin)...well vastly cheaper than coughing up for Premium Economy anyway. Question - has anyone here experienced long haul Virgin Economy X and did you consider it good value? Cheers.
That would be like what United terms Economy Plus or Economy Extra or similar would it not? Seeing as Virgin still operate their B777s with a decent configuration of 3-3-3 across down the back (and Delta too last time I looked) that should work a treat, getting 80% of the extra benefit of PE for 20% of the cost.
Yep. 3-3-3 apparently. The agent described X seating as ‘like exit row seats on a Virgin domestic flight’. We are pretty happy about that - I’m 6’3” and wife is 5’11”...
My family of 4 flew Virgin in Jan this year MEL-LAX-YVR and purchased the Economy X upgrade. We are all tallish (174-165cms) so were looking forward to extra legroom. We thought it was great and for the price, compared to a PE, we will definitely do it again.
Also did economy x to LA loved it, well worth the extra money, we booked exitseats so no one in front of us.
We love the exit seats that have no one sitting in front of you. Can only get these if you book economy x on virgin
Does anyone know how much extra legroom on the 777 economy x gets you. Its 3" on domestic but Virgin dont quote how much on 777. Seat guru says 38" which I find hard to believe.
