    Hey all,
I'm flying into Christchurch then driving to queenstown for a week this friday, just wondering if anyone knows what vodaphones network is like there and I'm hoping to use data for my GPS on my phone.
    thanks

Yea yet using voda they have a package I can get here for data to use over there, if they didn't I'd just grab a prepaid sum when I land.

Telecom coverage is better than Vodafone.

Vodafone have absolutely no coverage anywhere west of Fernhill in Queenstown.

Two years ago I had awful trouble with Vodafone trying to send MMS back to Australia, you know, to make friends jealous.

In the end they admitted they couldn't do it anyway, so now I have a '2 degrees' sim and it works great.

You should be okay, as they have Voda as one of their service providers over there.
(I've got a Voda prepaid that I've been using when I'm there every year since I was there 3 years ago.)

Best NZ coverage is on Telecom XT if your phones capable of operating on 850UMTS

I have a prepaid Voda and can report a strong signal and fast data in Wanaka.

Up at TC it's a good signal top half of Saddle Basin and strong on the frontside.

The GSM signal voda or 2degrees is fairly average up the remarkables, sometimes i dont get signal at all whilst in sugar bowl and nothing at all in the BC.
