39 at Cape Lewy is seriously loose. What was it a E/Nor-Easter?!
NNE, then due N. Soon as it drifted slightly to NW or E, temp dropped. Still bloody cooking away from the extremity though.

Was a day like that back in December that blew up the Boranup fire. The Capes region is cooked this year, already a number of serious fires, so much dry grass left in paddocks as a vector for fire. Fire aside, expecting to see results of summer to date in perrenial veg over next two years.

Literally sleeping on tenterhooks until we get 50mm.

F##king waste of a month is January.

Good for nothing these temps, 39.9C st Cape Leeuwin yesterday, reverse equivalent of hell freezing over!!
no no no you have it all wrong - there are so many that tell me how much they love this type of weather - or at least thats what I think they said from behind the roar of their arconditioners and locked up, darkened houses

11th day >40°C this summer. Smashing the previous record of 7 occurrences in 2015/16, 36 days of summer to go too:
We've had a some relatively easy summers the last few years. I suspect the BOM only has hot ones left in the cupboard. Their shipment of moderate summers is prolly stuck in a container waiting in a Chinese port or something.

one observation: our traditional cycle seems to be atound 7 days, where it starts at around the 30ish, slowly increases to high 30s over the next 4-5 days, followed by a humid, even mildly stormy day, and then resets for the next cycle.

We havent seen that at all, and the humidity has been amazingly, consistently low, sometimes down to around 12%

It's been stupid dry. I'm not a big fan of humidity, but crikies, we need at least a little bit!

Also very odd to see such a SE'er set-up for the SW region tomorrow/Tuesday, with surface winds originating from Bass Strait.

Here's NOAA's backwards trajectory of the winds hitting Margies tomorrow morning.

Some relief in the SW in the not to distant future.

Definite - sam look with the low and trough on the ec control on plot 1.
Some weather to look actually look forward too.

This summer is really shit, TFB & HVMB’s again, so legally not allowed to operate, but had already cancelled jobs for next two days.

The strong, dry easterlies this year are something else.

A very long way from everybody
Top day at Tennis today. Hot as buggery. Pennants cancelled. Couple of visitors from Brissy couldn't handle the dry heat and baled early. Another bloke who FIFOs to a mine near Laverton was basking in the cool.
