For the number of systems that failed to deliver?

I think its time we start to seriously look at utilising antartica as a ski destination.

The wind there would blow the wool off a sheep.

I think youre right there Ben.
I still find it hard to beleive that so many predicted events simply did not happen and most of those that did, produced way less snow than anticipated.

normally there is at least 1 large fall during July or august but this year the largest falls were in early May.

I think Monkey deserves an apology for the people's reaction to his prediction that this year was going to be a shocker! :p [IMG]

In the end he was right! [IMG]

So monkey said the SAME thing EVERY year since 2003(4 seasons)......

I suppose if you do that, you're bound to get one right eventually....

Not to mention his lack of explaination as to why it would be a 'shocker'. If your making calls, back it up with some ledgible data/facts/research...

Hey, don't write the season off yet. There's at least one more system to come. At least give it the courtesy of allowing it to fizz.

I dunno about Heard Island sir_rhyso. The terrain looks a bit too...unconventional for a major resort. And did I mention the wind?

If you lived on Heard Is and saw our mountains, you'd probably question the reliablity of snow depth. [IMG]

Sandy and POW, the Monkey comment was really a tongue in a cheek statement. I know he predicted a disaster season every year.

For what it is worth. The Rockies are getting an early start this year according to my sister in Aspen and a typical ElNino brings tons of snow to the Sierra Mts. The season starts in just a couple of months and I plan on taking full advantage of it.

There is arguably less wisdom in proclaiming that "the season isn't over" until late august every year. Most of the time you're going to be right and everyone is aware of when peak season generally is. [IMG]
