I'm doing some research and would like some opinions on what weather patterns make it snow? Or what combination of weather needs to happen in order for it to snow? Cold temperatures, obviously but what about humidity? Does there have to be a lot of moisture in the air for it to snow?

I'm a total rookie with this so pls excuse me if I sound like I have no idea, cos I don't! All opinions welcome! Big thanks in advance!

Oh and if there is a thread similar to this somewhere and someone can point me in the right direction that would be most appreciated as well.

Try the catalogue of different systems thread above. It shows the different setups that produce snow.

The best advice i can give you, along with SB's thread, is to when winter starts hang around here a lot more, and read what people have to say about current and incoming systems, and you will learn a lot about how to forecast these things.

Also, sit quiet and dont ask any questions for a while, useless questions **** off the best of us :p hehe. dont worry, you will get the hang of it, i was a hack once...oh, wait...
