Given the big fat high for the week it will be interesting to see which resort takes the crown of best snow making. I’m seeing Perisher blazing ATM, blowing away Thredders claim to the biggest.

Yeah, Perisher craps all over all Aus resorts for snowmaking these days. It's truly an amazing setup they have.

48hrs on Excelerator.... should be open pretty soon if they can keep this up. Also I can't say I've ever been around when they've been making snow at 1:30 pm

Made this video in 2015. Was just gobsmacked at the quality of the snow that morning. It was squeaky like fresh natural. Wait till the end where the camera pans around PValley with no snow.

Looks like Perisher and Thredbo both smashing it out. Have a look at the whales back left of shot in the friday flat cam.

One of the staff once told me they only need a couple of days from nothing to having a run ready to go. But I guess that depends on the summer grooming to an extent?

    Stay on topic.
This isn't a competition between Victorian and NSW resorts.

GUns on high noon appear to be making wet snow. Cam has drops on it. RH heading up i guess.

But i think Folaus god is winning with the natural falls at Thredbo at present. Coming down nicely.

I missed the first good night (2 nights ago) and got up late this morning, was -4.5 set up my gun and instant snow! Temsp got down to -6.9 just before sunrise. Makes me wonder what it was like down at the river -8? -9?

There has been a light dusting of snow at Perisher , less than 1 cm. Chains needed on the road from Wilsons Valley.

    Snow guns still firing, -5c

The sun is poking thro the clouds in Middle Park....has been recent rain ....so roller blading is off.
Cool to cold atm.negligible breeze .

A few joggers and bicycles getting their hormonal l fix..Conditions not to threatening which is borne out by a look at BOM radar over Port Phillip Bay.

I wonder what is the greatest area in the world covered by snowmaking. Did the Sellaronda in the Dolomites once all on man made snow. 2 days every run new.

Bands of rain are sweeping across NE Melb. today , and there was steam coming off the water of the outdoor heated 50 M. pool where I was doing laps i.e smashing out 2.5 km.

Spent the weekend at my friend's place in Lara, frosty night and driving back up the highway there is/was thick fog from Werribee through till about Laverton, then it cleared completely and back to fog now I am home in the city.

Hovered around 8c in the fog, 11 or so out of it
