This weekend is shaping up as the best in a while - still not much for skiers, but good for snow players. A fresh cover of snow last night (3cm) and the probability of snow on Saturday and possibly Sunday, means that there should be plenty for snowmen and snowball fights etc away from the main toboggan run. And it's going to look a lot prettier than it has over the last few weeks.

At this stage, looking far better for next weekend. There should be good snow tomorrow (Monday) as well as Thursday and Friday. The season may actuallly kick off for this coming weekend (11th to 12th August)!

Car park cam is looking good today, but is it enough to ski on? Probably not yet. But later in the week does look promising, as you suggest, T. At last.

No, it's not good enough to ski on the car park [IMG] Ahem!
Oh - you meant the trails, - not open yet. It will depend how much snow we get today as to whether they open tomorrow, or if we have to wait until Thurday/Friday's snow to get them going. Whatever, they should be open for the weekend.

Glad to see your sense of humour and eye for ambiguity both intact after what must have been a flat July. Here's to a better August.

The trails are open today for the first time in weeks. Rated poor, and ungroomed. The mountain says 4 cm, but for the last 2 years, they've consistently reported the same depth on the upper trails as the carpark. Anyway, I've hired out a pair of rockhoppers to a guy, who has promised to report actual snow depth on the trails to me. I'll let you know what he says.
