No, not especially. A fettle, work & relax day. Did have sake with lunch, was good & matched our lip smackin good sushi. Thought about Nordic, but easily dissuaded by it being closed as part of corona response. Weather almost drizzle today, just cold enough not to be until the snow hits something whereupon it turns to drizzle.
Excuse the poor pic... But lookeee what we found while toodling in resort today - a hardbooter out of his natural Mt Racey habitat!!
By the way, you should not touch Kita Kitsune (Hokkaido Fox). It can give you something a lot more scary than COVIT-19.
Good to know! I wouldn’t think of touching a fox though. We saw one in Kushiro last year, but it was way too shy to even come near. It had a beautiful orange coat, glowing in the sunset light.
Wild Kita Kitsune ( = Hokkaido Fox) is famous as Echinococcosis carrier(higher ratio than Honshu Kitsune = Honshu Fox) Echinococcosis : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Echinococcosis If you want to hug cute foxes, you should visit Fox Village in Zao. I mean, they are not Echinococcosis carriers and it's safe to touch the foxes in the Fox Village (sorry, I have no intention to promote Tohoku ski resorts in this great thread, really)
Rusutsu with a Small Flock of Tele Instructors. This is a big place, light is not as flat as pics suggest, snow is lighter than it looks, Fairy Floss n Fact.
Hydatids. Australia is full of them. https://www.wildlifehealthaustralia...ls/Hydatid_Disease_in_Australian_Wildlife.pdf
Yesterday @skifree and I went for a stroll up Chisenupuri followed by a beer by Yumoto hot spring and then a soak in Yukichichibu Onsen. It was great to go for a stroll and the 10cm of fresh wasn't too heavy by the time I managed to waddle up the hill. That onsen is great and I knew I was cooked when I started to nod off, even with snowflakes tickling my nose. Today was a training day at Rusutu. It's a good sized hill with much better fall lines than Niseko and the groomers were soft and grippy. Another great day. Pretty view @skifree skiing Froggy Beer, onegiri and hot spring Shiribetsu is pretty Tasty little fishies
Just how I like it, it’s still the busiest place I’ve skied this trip. Busy enough to need to keep your eyes peeled.
Yeah, It Is Quiet. But not so quiet that the 1000M Hut didn’t run out of Hot Buns before I dropped in.
The Run Of The Day was skiers left of the Pizza Box. Classic Wind Blown Across the Groomer. I was channeling my inner @robbo mcs who would have sniffed it out earlier than I. On the ungroomed under the Pizza Boxes was good fun as well, dunno why everyone was ignoring it. The was not toooo brutal, by Oz standards.
