Over 50's style accommodation options ala "RV Homebase" in Qld. Suitable for people semi and fully retired but not yet dead; active in fact.
Covenents to prevent Airbnb lets, tourist rents etc - ie: for people to "live" in a peaceful environment. Its an awesome area.
More land in the 25-50 acre space (Snowy Hydro release?).
    More semi-industrial land.
    Lakeside eateries.
    Retirement home options.
A botanical gardens to showcase alpine and sub alpine plants.

I am sure Barilaro would be all for it:rolleyes:

I mean China is getting the olympics and they have no snow at those locations. So why can’t we get them, even though we have no mountains:confused:

It's outgrown itself. It was just a Primary School and the kids used to travel to Cooma High. It is so overcrowded now.

They revert to only providing a laundry service in the Winter. They do a nice job but an ordinary laundromat would still be good.

    Yeah I don’t think so.

My daughter at least has never responded to an advertisement. She had it infrequently. But it’s in her handful of top foods, and in my experience that’s pretty common with kids

The school buses that do the Barry Way is proof it could be moved out of the town centre.

    Best reply so far.
    Every suggestion has merit.
It's disappointing that Jindabyne has never taken advantage of the lake for better tourism opportunities. Probably has more to do with earlier planning controls, but it is truly such a beautiful place with mountain views that this opportunity seems to have been missed.
The "Lakeside eateries' suggestion was the one that hit the spot.
Imagine having the chance to dine out over the water?

Agree. They used to be the local cleaners for 30 years, then shafted that for the laundry business.

Council can only make zoning decisions within the EP&A Act which then need to be approved by the NSW department of planning.

Vast majority of kids arrive by bus anyway, wouldn’t make a lot of difference. When my eldest graduated 6 years ago, he was in a cohort of 20 odd. 2 years ago, my youngest was in a cohort of 40. How many Jindy classes did they have starting this year? 5? They need more room, all green areas have been replaced with demountables.

Plenty of land available but the town planners allow abominations like the new development in Jerrara St and Kunama st East Jindabyne to happen.

Yeah well if time isn't a factor, then the single most important way to improve Jindabyne would have been to NOT flood it.

Jindy would have been a very beautiful town if it were still situated along the banks of the snowy river, with the dry rolling hills in the background rising all the way to the forested slopes of the park...

Good, if there is plenty on land available to build on, (as a few people here have claimed), then I will build a tasteful block of flats and make a fortune catering to the shortage of accommodation.

But hang on, IF there really is land available and IF there really is a shortage of accommodation, then a hundred other people will have had this idea and built the required flats and houses. So one of those claims is obviously wrong.

I do think they need to separate high school from primary. There is so little room left on that site now.

A new high school on the Jindy Oval with shared soccer and cricket facilities and relocate the Oval to the one at The Station or across from Leesville.

Intensive use in town, occasional use out of town.
