What lifts do we think will open with the snow-apocalypse and when?

You'd need a crystal ball to answer that.
Lifts will be open when there is enough snow on the ground.
We will know more by the end of this week.

    Can't hurt to guess people.

My pick is BB1, ABOM (so happy to not say holden), skyline, wombat, shakey knees open by this time next week.

Carpet. But our mountain operations manager is as keen as anyone to open up ASAP. Plans for more lifts Wednesday, conditions permitting (and they look permitting!)

Sure is! Will Buller be running the guns to bolster the decent snow falls we've had?

guns are running now from reports off the hill. They will be pumping everything they can to get as much up and running as possible ASAP. Buller does snowmaking well. ;)

    "Wombat - tomorrow late morning"

Last one down Wombat's a rotten egg.

And most asked question tomorrow of lift staff and patrol.
    Is Wombat open yet ?

And less than a week before school holidays start, perfect timing for those that spend the season on the hill and deserve to hit these runs before the masses trash them up. Merry Xmas guys!

Anyone know if Shakey Knees and Wombat actually ended up turning? I couldn't see anyone on the cams and the app said closed.

Yesterday Shakey opened about 1pm. It was pretty nice, but heavy manmade snow. Wombat never opened though.

Can't see any more lifts open unless there is some more snow fall or snowmaking. I was up there on Thursday and snow was tragically rain-battered, very soft and slushy. Temp above zero yesterday didn't help either.

Also I find it amazing they haven't got most of the Northside up and going, especially for a day trip Horsehill, Burnt Hut, Boggy Creek and Grimus is a great way to spend the morning working around the mountain. Any chance any of this will open in the next day or two?

Help me out coz I can't understand this in light of all the "OMG so much snow" talk that's been happening... there's only 11 lifts open? I take it areas such as the Bull Run isn't good enough condition or packed with enough snow to open?

(I'm only 1/2 being a smartarse, I actually want to know.)

I think one of the reasons why they haven't opened other lifts is because of low number of people. Even though it was school holiday weekend, there were very few people on the hill. I hardly had to wait one minute to get on the lifts on Sunday. Mostly went straight to the chair.

The only run with high traffic were Bourke St and Little Buller -- so many snowboarders on Sunday may I add. They outnumbered skiers!!!

Yesssss.... I was hoping for bull run to be open as It's a good alternative to wombat that doesn't get crowded.

Fair enough not enough people but really, I think more wil come if they advertise that more lifts are open.

I moved the photos to the Buller Pics thread, realising this is a lift thread.

As for my life in Mansfield, everything else is all good except for the proposed business having some hiccups with the approval of some construction. There are some conflicts of information given by different government bodies and we can't proceed until all of them say yes -- to each other. If they can't agree, then me and my friends might have to wait maybe until September for another alternative to become practical.

Look on the bright side, I'll have time for snow activities.
