So? Where are you skiing this coming winter? How many days (or weeks or months) planned?

What are you planning to do? Any ambitions for the season? Start skiing parallel? Do a black run? Conquer the bumps? Actually ski powder in Oz? Traverse the Snowies?

For me in a huge surprise I’ll ski Thredbo. With limited annual leave I might prioritise an extra week in Japan next year over a second week in Oz. So I’ll probably do just one week plus 3 or 4 weekends. I may do an improvement course or number of lessons - a lot depends on the week I lock in, and wifely permissions (if I do a course she becomes a snow widow for a week, unless she does one too).

Aims? Just ski better. Improve in bumps. Shorten tip lead. Maybe later season short tours.

No season pass this year. Last year was the tipping point in terms of crowds and skifield access hassles.
Bought 6 x charlotte pass day tripper tickets in the $49 early bird sale.
Skins should get a decent workout as well.

Learning to use my new AT skis. Plus a few days at Thredbo courtesy of Ikon pass. Maybe a weekend at CP with new AT gear.

Perisher. As many days as I am able to, which won't be as many as I'd like.

I don’t disagree with you on crowds. I’m also at or near tipping point on crowds. I was loathe to mention it in my opening post but yeah it’s an issue that is totally degrading the overall experience at the moment.

My first year since 2008 without a season pass. Can’t do the crowds anymore.

    Wherever I lay my hat.

    20+ days minimum. 50 max.

I just want to get through winter injury free.

    Every day is a bonus.

I grabbed an Epic pass late last year. I've booked in a midweek trip to Perisher with my 4yo. Hoping to see him able to point the board downhill and make a j-turn/falling leaf. I'll be ecstatic if I am able to take a chairlift ride with him and share a run together.

I'm hoping to get a few weekends up to Hotham/Falls, and possibly a cheeky midweek trip there if I can. I am anticipating receiving a redundancy at the end of July, so that would be good timing.

Crowds/cost of day tickets have caused me to cancel my usual weeks skiing Perisher and Thredbo but if season is going well will drive down with my dog from Brisbane and ski Hotham from Harrietville for maybe 3-4 days mid-week.

I'll be dealing with the crowds most weekends in Thredbo but avoiding the traffic by having lots of long weekends, weather depending, plus hopefully a week or two. 50+ days.
    Lots of laps...
Had a hectic year with work/family.
Have not had a day of annual leave since August.
    Winter is slow at work.
Less than 100 days to go. Bring it on...

With luck I'll be able to use annual leave for 1 day a week for most weeks of the season. Though I've been planning to do that the last couple of years but things at work didn't allow for it so only had limited days where I could do it.

Hoping for a bunch of weekends and a family ‘almost week’ at some stage. Thredbo. Will see how access and crowds go but that may well be driven by the timing and amount of snow....

    some more touring and hills.

PB, Thredbo, side country. Goals are to stay calm, work on some bigger edge angles, get side country a lot more and come out the other side in one piece.

Hoping to finally make it for some NZ Heli with a couple of local SkiBros.

This of course all depends as I will probably working during the winter anf I have a few job applications in.

Work, ski, get overseas next year.

Thredbo. Full on time of it the last year or so, which should start to wind back in second half of winter so hoping to take what little leave I have for a week or two of care free mid week skiing while kidlets are in school/day care. Other than battling crowds while kids do weekend ski school programs - hopefully not so much sitting in the pub waiting for Snowgums and Gunbarrel to reopen in big winds.

Crowds almost made me skip the pass this year, but my +1 pointed out that I get my value out of it just with MTB, so I got one. It was really only August that shit me last season, killed the vibe IMO. But it came back in September.

I reckon it might be less crowded this season for many reasons. Also I cant remember the last time we had four years in a row with over 2m at Spencers, so I think we are due for a low snow year.

Ill be unemployed, or partly employed, or who knows, so no idea how many days, usually get around 40. If August is like last year I will just tour and skip the resort.

Hotham, mostly lifted, working on highly technical aspects of skiing.

Plan is to do tele level 1 in the process.

Edit: also harboring ambitions to do the hoppet

my moneys on more crowded again than last year. with the economy only really coming off the boil since season pass commitment time last year, there could be a few with more time than usual to spend down the mountains.
    assuming resorts open as usual.

Not sure of my plans. Was thinking of deflecting to Thredbo but then saw the cost of the pass.

Thinking MC... but will see how my life plans out. Got time to pull the trigger on an epic pass if needed.

Wouldn't mind getting buller under my built just to say ive done all the Aussie majors!

Buller was another reason I went Ikon, in case youngest does uni games. And I really like having 2 seasons to use the days. More chance of getting an NZ trip in next year.

No definite plans yet. Hopefully visit the relatives in Canberra and I might do a couple of days in Thredbo or Perisher mid week despite the rip off day ticket prices. Other than that no Oz plans.

Will start looking at what to do in the Northern Hemisphere in 2021 once it's clearer what's happening with the Corona virus situation. Possibly Canada but I might also do another Euro trip. I was originally looking at Northern Italy ...

    Oh me too!!

My plans may be different given the health emergency, but assuming business as usual:

Thredbo - season pass for me and PB locked in.

Hopefully doing some volly work with DWA.

And spending most of the rest of my ski time training to be a park rat. It’s the only thing that stopped me passing my L2, and I so very nearly had it.

PB not happy to spend the full season this year - multitude of reasons - so it’ll be back and forth for me/us.

Based on all of that we left our splitboards and Avy gear in Japan. Given the coronavirus situation we may be regretting that decision LOL

As far as development goals - I might try and snag a couple of group or afternoon private lessons at Perisher, in an effort to improve my turns and get the confidence to attempt some steeper terrain. This also depends on if I get lucky enough to have another Perisher powder day.

It would work out well if I decided to do Canada in 2021 (was already looking at Banff etc) but my credit card needs to recover from my recent Japan trip before I can make any further plans.

Now I finally have boots that fit me (nearly) I'm also hoping to work on technique and try some harder runs. It's amazing how much better you can ski when you can actually feel your feet :D

Less work, more free time as of last week, so make the most of the Thredbo 365 pass, prolly a fair bit of the time with @telecrag and other undesirables, doing the ski camp at DaBo early August to unlearn all my technical unfinesse, hopefully a fair bit of BC too and doing some mountain safety upskilling, refresher stuff in NZs big glaciated hills early September with @climberman
And eating donuts, lots of donuts.
(And building a new house too)

A week in Thredbo as usual, with one or two offspring. No special goals, just tootle around and look for powder. Maybe give the Golf Course more attention this time if conditions are good. IF the place is open, IF the planes are flying and IF I'm not in hospital with pneumonia.

    mainly falls creek
day trips when conditions are right
    2 weeks on mountain booked
might do a short stay at another mountain in late aug/early sept

everything depends on what happens with the virus. might not get to do any

last year I got back to careful skiing on blues only in good conditions. this year it would be nice to do some black groomers and maybe some easy off-piste. I'll still be avoiding crowds, ice, slop and crud. Probably still avoid fog but it would be nice to lift the threshold a bit. TBH any (low risk) skiing is better than no skiing so I'll take what I can get

She skied like a champ in Japan with no brace - which turned up after she left, and I’ve brought it home, I’ll bring it over for the Forum 25th Partaaay if corona doesn’t decide otherwise.
