Hi I am winding down from a big 2019 XC and BC XC ski season. I have taken my basic XC ski skills as far as they will go. I need to learn some new skills especially how to Telemark turn as well as do the Ice Hockey skidded stop. I have all NNN BC gear. I think the basics can be acquired using such NNN BC boots and bindings on XC BC skis. Where in VIC. would the panel recommend me obtaining lessons in these two skills in the early stages of the 2020 ski season ? I was thinking of the Nordic Bowl at Falls Creek.
Agreed. You should be at Level 2 of the Wholebody course. This will take you three days to complete. An extra day to learn the telemark turn. When you are ready, I can test and certify you on that first qualification.
Yes .Either Dinner Plain Poma or cheap lift ticket day on Wednesdays at Mt. Baw Baw should do the trick. I do have trouble with the commercial radio music and advertisements blaring out of speakers along the learners' down hill Poma run at Dinner Plain . That sort of thing is an anathema to my XC skiing concept of oneness with nature while gliding along on planks.
What happens here ? 1. The arm comes across quickly and then STOPS just as his skis go flat. This transfers a rotation to his skis. 2. The arm goes back quickly . This transfers weight to his back ski, making it skid around. Not a biggy.
Yes, That was Bendoleo, Biff's special protege. He says "I only ski telemark !" So why is he using a wedeln move to start his Stop Christie ? Maybe everything old is new again. His second move, reverse shoulder halfway through the turn, as so well demonstrated by TP, should only be used in a stop because it moves balance towards the rear. Yes, skiing that appears effortless just involves no diversion from a centered stance.
Oh Master, I have much to learn . I am just a grasshopper and rock hopper until I become a tele marker .
Ex = unknown quantity. Spurt = a drip under pressure. I tire of the gleeful ribaldity of our "experts". Maybe they will not smother us while I give you a quick rundown on "top down" If a top snowboarder finally gets to try to ski, he will use a style called "Skoarding" Body movement, instead of edge pressure, is in command of the skis. This style only gets taught to the very top skiers, for some reason. This is how they tell their skis where to go: "Even pressure is applied to both skis. " "The arms should be held clearly in front of the body, like the steering wheel of a car, driving where you want to go."
