I wouldn't have thought the cliffs were red enough for Wilpena Pound but the thought had crossed my mind.

I guess the composition evokes images of his works. I've never been there, just seen piccies from others trips etc.

If only he'd given more botanical clues! Dead trees with mistletoe and open grassland is dime a dozen stuff. Bark on the trunk looks a bit Boxy, but who knows.

I must apologize then VSG. I only saw your post that said Mt loch looking toward the summit. It is indeed the summit.

West coast Tassie? North west, actually. Somewhere near the Tarkine. A coastal range.

No, I am wrong. I was thinking Hotham summit, never said it.

    I did say:

My first reaction was coastal as well but having never been to the Tarkine it reminded me of Wilson's Prom. We visited Hollow Mountain only last month so you'd think I'd be able to pick a Gramps from a Prom landscape, but I can't. [IMG]

I have a question, kinda BC related.

I haven't lived in Melbourne for nearly three decades, thus memory is hazy. What is the isolated range of hills, prob 300 to 500m high, NW of Tullamarine as you fly away, northwards. It was high enough to poke above the ground level haze.

I am thinking Mt Macedon? About 20k's from Tulla. Again, guessing. [IMG]

Alex, Mt Zero and Flat Rock it is. Mt of Olives is just out of shot on the left. Taken from the road at campsite boulders.

VSG, I have seen Mount Macedon sticking above the clouds as well. Its NW but 1000m not 500m. There might be a few others in between though only that would make it more N than W. Man Im sick of flying to Sydney.

my second, podlette is on the right track about the bark but not the location. It ain't SA or Tas.

The European one ain't Italy. FTR that was the view from our tent. Not a bad view to wake up to or have dinner with.

    sidetrack's is achingly familiar..
1st stab would be view up the King from the side of Cobbler? Allthough I'm figuring the gullies to the left are all wrong.
hang on.. how about the back of Magdala or perhaps Howitt

Which order does it go? Howitt- Dw -Magdala?
I'll pitch for Howitt above that grotty spring that has nothing in it other than moist rock by then end of summer. [IMG] [IMG]
