    Looking east from the summit.
Clue 1: where wild dogs go to drink.

Looks a lot like the Hamersleys?

But can't quite pick the peak & have been on a lot of them.

    SE of Meharry somewhere?

Nah, Hamersleys is probably the furthest place in Australia from it.
I've got another clue lined up, but there's a lot of info hidden in the photo.

    You've gotta ask yourself.
Where would a dead goat go to soak?

To soak.....and give all the hikers who came along salmonella.
I'm looking for the location where the photo was taken from. The 2 clues are within the photo.

Dead Goat Soak is in Crisp Gorge South of Mt Falkland. Pretty much always a dead goat or roo in this gorge. The soak is also unreliable.

East would be the ABC Range.

The Trezona Range should be the one with trees. The Bunkers are probably on the horizon.

You should be on Nintenta Peak to see that gap through the ABCs.

Close! so close. Pushing my knowledge with the bit about the bunkers, however you did make a mistake.
Possibly my bad as Dead Goat Soak is at the bottom of one of the spurs from where the photo was taken but is not in the picture.

I was unsure why the clue was DGS, it’s a messy tight gorge, pretty but no views to the East. You get to spot on to DGS from above via Nintenta Peak if coming from Parachilna Gorge or Mingari Peak picking up Bulara & Workara from the South.

Yeah, My original clue is much better and should give you the answer. Threw the second one in for fun.
    Where is the camera?

Wild Dog Creek is in the bottom of the valley, no views from there. Nearest real hill is Mt Falkland i think.

It’s a slog from WDC to DGS.

Mt Falkland is what I was after . Wild dog creek is the big clue in that it's distinctive and at the base of Mt Falkland. The other clue is the vertical rock layers in the foreground, which are specific to the area. Dead Goat soak is also the closest natural water source.

I'd put Mt Falkland forward as the best campsite in SA.

I might have mentioned Mt Falkland in post #18666.

It is a pretty nice campsite.

I’m sure people go surfing there as it’s right near to a major population center

too easy. Impressive looking hills in that area. Good treeless hiking. Shame about the gazillion flies and mid 30's temperatures in April!
