Close. Parts are visible from this location, when it's not precipitating or windy.
Here is view earlier in day, in other direction toward Hinchinbrook (sorry for the off level horizon, to busy watching for cro'diles with side eye).
Good bag of mangrove jack & fingermark schnappers caught not far from this spot. Reckon I saw at least three drug smuggling boats as well....
Really like the wet tropics of Qld. If you like to be hot & sweaty year round, along with being perpetually itchy from a million insect bites, it's the place to live in northern Australia, in my view.
Not as close.
hinchinbook in distance?
Magnetic island ?
Yes, as stated. Hinchinbrook in distance of second shot.
But where from?
Also close by.
Looking at Palm Island from Orpheus?
All very close. But original photo in question not actually taken or looking at an island, just those islands in the general proximity.
Just north of cardwell?
Hinchinbrook Chanel or perhaps Seymour River?
Sort of creeping closer.
Knight Island ?
Not an island.
Girringun NP ?
Photo taken looking at national park.
Generally a very damp place, although hot & dry this time last year.
Innisfail ? Etty Bay ?
To far north, although did have a eyeballing with some of Bob Kkkatters sheriff’s just before this.
Apparently they don’t take kindly to people taking the piss out of their cowboy swagger.
Tully Heads ?
To south, but closest yet. Tropical coast full of these obscure, mostly estuarine systems.
That's it. Interesting place.
Just inside the heads, looking NW.
No, is NSW
Abercrombie is in NSW.
Was meaning you are in the correct state.
No, but after just looking at some pics I can see why, very similar.
Not many options left, the guesses so far have peppered all around it.
I found the entrances into the caves more interesting than the actual caves.
I also found a snake next to the esky I had under the tree!
Woops, apologies @Tanuki just scrolled up and seen your post, all yours.
An easy one to keep it trucking:
Magdala on the right ?
Or is it Howitt on the right ?
