Tinaroo Dam ?
Correct. Although I think Lake Tinaroo has a nicer ring to it.
Distinct vegetation transition from the tropical rainforest to the drier eucalypt forest. Interesting tree the cadaghi, observed in residential street planting, good seeing it in natural habitat, it's broad leaves making it appear un-eucalypt.
Also saw a lace monitor raid a cockatoo nest in tall, dead stag just before this. Quite a battle between the birds & the lizard, lizard won out in the end.
Name the hut.
Is in NSW.
Tin Mine Huts?
Should be pretty easy
Grey Mare Range - somewhere near Rocky Bogong Hill ?
Nah, much easier to get to than that.
Somewhere of the back of the Smigg's trails? Looking over the Snowy valley to your left?
Looks like the photo was taken in the 80s or 90s when there used to be snow down there.
Not that easy.
Photo taken in late August 2016 usually enough snow round here then . Here’s one looking up the hill, great conditions.
Somewhere east of guthega trig. I can see the hydro pipeline in the distance.
Above or near Horse Camp Hut?
Below Granite Peaks ?
No not there
Yep that’ll do, nice open slopes above the aquaduct not too far up though
Close but closer to HC hut as called by Old school mIke
@Old School Mike
Is that pretty point in the distance?
Where is Pretty Point?
Southeast of Dainers Gap
I guess that must be it. Photo taken from Northernmost point on 10k Red loop nordic trail.
Hadn't realised I won.
Where are @skifree and I skiing?
Just south of Perisher resort, Mt Wheatley?
Skiing off peak Sma 0318 South of Guthega ( West of Farm Creek) ?
Close I think but perhaps alittle further up the Ramshead Range, can't think of the name of the area, never been there just admired it from afar, a little treeless face somewhere between Porcupine and Twin Valleys, closest to CP.
More specifically heading down valley overlooking Thredbo Diggings
a bit north-east of Mt Duncan Trig.
Further south than the Guthega or Porcupine / Wheatley etc guesses? (both obvs)
Brindle Bull Hill ?
A little bit south of Bella Vista proper but still not Twin Valleys. You're up.
