Mt Townsend, KNP - the prominent ridge behind runs up to The Sentinel (and thus the hazy ridge behind is in Brumbyland.)

Love those two outliers of the Western Faces: Crags and Alice Rawson ridge: 2000m+ perches on which to take in the Faces and, in the other direction, the Geehi and Swampy valleys. Truly magnifico! [IMG]

Hmmm things have gone all quiet again.

Try this. If you've been there, you will recognise it.

Craig D. has it. The photo is of collapsed tram bridge on the Bogong Creek Aqueduct. The tram line is the quickest route to Quartz Ridge on Mt Bogong, it's also the easiest (except for this short 20 metre section) and very scenic. Strangely not many people walk it.

Ok here's one that is probably very easy for some of you:
(at least the general area anyway)

Somewhere at Wilsons Prom? Is that Mt Oberon in the middle off in the distance?

That's defnitely Rodondo Island (Tasmania) in the background. I'll guess Mt Boulder in the middle distance with the photo being taken from Mt Oberon.

Both right on the general area, but no Mt Oberons were involved in the taking of that photo.

In that case, it's probably taken from Mt Ramsay with Mt Wilson in the middle distance.

Looking south from Mt Latrobe. (One of Victoria's great wilderness destinations). The rock in the middle distance is on Mt Wilson, the closer peak is Mt Ramsay.

Guys, I need you to TELL me where it is, not ASK me where it is. Unfortunately I can't remember taking this picture.

My guess is that it's looking NE from Mt Tabletop, with Half Moon Pk distinctive in the centre, and Mt Gudgenby on the right.

Does this make sense to anyone who knows the area?

I'll guess at the area between Maldon and Wedderburn due to the granite hills, but the paddocks seem to be reasonably fertile, so it may be further south around the Mt Cole area.

A little hill, who's name I can't recall, at the northern foot of Mt Macedon. Geologically related to Camels Hump and Hanging Rock.

    Crystal something??

JAM, I suspect that you're thinking of Black Hill.

That certainly looks like Macedon in the background.

Theres no doubt thats mt macedon. The steep side on the left is the southern end, so im guessing this photo was taken somewhere east of macedon between mt macedon and the hume freeway.

If Thats Macedon it would have to be taken somewhere to the south east ish. Maybe granite rd. If it was taken from blackhill or near romsey the steep bit should be on the right side of the pic.
