I've seen this one. (I seem to remember a thread about this) I'll be quiet. Awesome sense of space up there. Hard to get good photos.

Original thought was Quartz Ridge or Castor and Pollux on Bogong.

The cloud in the valley makes it harder.

But for some reason I am thinking this is the Mt Cobbler Summit block.

mr: bandwidth isn't an issue, the width of the page is ... [IMG] Maybe edit it and make it clicky instead?

Anyway I think its taken from the Mitchell Plateau in the Grampians facing to the Northwest with Mt William the rightmost peak..

Bingo Alex. I'd love to do a 'highline' traverse along that one. Anyone know if you can?
I've really got too much work to do for this.

Hmm just noted the filename of your panaroma, should of noted it earlier. [IMG]
But yeah a skyline traverse of the range would probably be worth doing.

Yep, taken from on rocky ridge. There was too much snow to get to ref gap in the car, so we didnt have time to go up to the bluff after skiing in. Instead went up to RR and had ball in some of the hidden clearings.

    Airefuego,

I'm thinking either Buffalo but I'm not sure where. OR The Niggerheads. (but the snowy plateau and plains below don't seem to fit)

Love graeme's shot. I'm going to guess the niggerheads, but there still not enough white plains in background (although is that a fuzzy mt cope at the back?)

Airfuego. Gotta be buffalo. Back of the hump?

Is it amongst the outcrops on the other side of the road to the Cathedral on Buffalo. There is a funky little hung valley on your left as you walk up and over towards the castle. You walk through this valley to get to ....... Can't remember what it's called.

Yeah i reckon. Not much granite like that anywhere else. Mt Dunn's up there on the right somewhere but its more of an outcrop and is surrounded by trees.

I'll see if I can help a little.

Airfuego - Looks to me to be South Rams Head looking southish over Dead Horse Gap
Graeme - Not sure but looks to be up high in the Snowies, maybe Porcupine Rocks?
Majikthise - Doesn't look to be in Oz, maybe northern Italy or southern France

I think you might be right on the Airfuego pic, that chute through the rocks looks very familiar.
