Sorry - I meant to say Old Currango homestead - South of Coolamine
any takers for this, or for a 200 posts party for Sidetrack?
Old Currango is correct I loved the texture of the old floorboards.
Anyone else want to raid their photo library for some cryptic shots?
Edit: Graeme I have no idea where that photo was taken. Maybe I should get out more
Graeme, also no idea, but is it in SW Tassie ?
OK, should be pretty easy (even without cheating  ). Perhaps guess the temperature would be more challenging:
A river somewhere.
Hawkesbury or Murray during a marathon padddle event. OOr the Bidgee or Lake Burley Griffin or the Cotter or any bloody river. It is unlikely to be the ocean, which narrows things down somewhat.
See, I told you it was easy.
Have you bought a digicam Chudak?
Cool my first 200 post thread, who would have thought I could waste so much time at work in one winter. Id like to thank my mum........
While we are on the hut theme
Looks like the hand rails at Stirling????
Graeme, I'll have a crack. Taken from Lake Rhona in SW Tas which would make the mountain Reeds Peak.
I second that, looks like Bluff Spur Hut to me, also brightening it up a bit:
Isn't that the memorial plaque to Xavier and Robert there?
Yep Alex Bluff spur hut.
Mabye this is bit harder
Side of Mt Nelse...
or anywhere for that matter.
The aliens are the giveaway. It is not on earth.
Chudak: My guess is a lake near to a city, set in parkland (there are deceduous trees in the background). Water looks too 'blue' to be a river of that width. I'll go with Kokopelli's suggestion of Lake Burley-Griffin.
Photo would have been taken early on a cold morning, so I'm guessing temperature outside would have been 5 degrees or below.
Sidetrack's picture looks too green for nelse, unless photo was taken before the 2003 fires. With no major landmark in sight, that photo could have been taken anywhere above 1800m!
Here is another easy one; name the dunny.
Nice deduction there, although Kieran got it more precisely as Sullivan's Creek, on the ANU campus. Temperature that morning was very much below zero, so was probably about 1-2 degrees by the time the sun hit us.
Is that the dunny at Davies Hut?
A curse on the cheeky buggers who installed the spider there. Grrr...
Tassie Yes. SW No. Long Time Lurker No.
The silly snowboarders are heading almost due south, possibly south-east, due to the shadows cast at around midday... late season. Maybe late October?
The snow banks are on the southern or eastern side of the mountain. The greeness of the vegetation and it's general appearance put it in Victoria. Above 1700m.
I would hazard a guess and say Mount Loch. Heading back toward Hotham.
VSG is getting close. Things wrong are "late October" its actually late November, "Mount Loch Heading back toward Hotham." and the bit about silly snowborders. We had heaps of fun that day.
PS does that kocpops person actually think he is funny?
I'm going for a punt and i'm saying somewhere up the top of heavenly
Graeme - Cradle Mtn?
Sidetrack - it looks very 'Orchard return'ish to me.
Just tell us what it is, its pretty impossible to guess
final guess: up the top of initiation
Yep - around the back where the Overland Track skirts close to it for a bit.
I dont know where initiation is as ive only skiied in the resort at Hotham a couple of times since they changed all the names from A1, A2 etc. But Im pretty sure its not that. It is in that area though.
There are only 3 places in the area that could have skiiable drifts in November, VSG said one the other is heaps steeper so??????????
I don't know. I do my best.
Are you from earth?
No. Interplanetary travel has been the norm for thousands of years where I come from.
I was right!!!!!!!! I knew it when I saw the photos!!!!!!!!!!
I'm guessing somewhere on the western side of the grampians can't get more specific than that other than I dont think its around Mt Zero, Hollow Mountain etc..
OK invoking the 10 page rule continue.. here
