I think there was some tongue-in-cheekiness in @IAB's comment ;)

    Agreed. Easiest way (to Guthega)
is probably from top of Pleasant View Trail.
One of the best and easiest and longest runs in Perisher.

I like that the title could be either

Where to avoid as a snowboarder

    or

    Where to avoid a snowboarder.

    Everyones a winner!

Hey, if the two-plankers want to stick just to the flat runs, that's fine by me :D

Except Guthega - I hear that's just awful for everyone, not worth heading over too.

I took a mate to Perisher for a day trip a few years back, me on skis and he boarding. He swore never to go back because there was so much traversing to get from one mountain to the next. Thredbo is mostly downhill at least and there are few places where you see boarders knuckling along apart from 100 metres or so on the way from gunbarrel to High Noon.

I don't mind a visit to Perisher and we usually take in a day there when we go to thredbo, but if you can't skate on skis then it's hard work on the arms. Lots of interesting bits seperated by lots of flat bits.

The only really crap traversey places I've found are trying to get from Front Valley to Intercepter and, even worse, the time I tried to go from top station on the quad to Blue Cow - NEVER AGAIN. Everywhere else seems fine to me.

Quick question as I haven't been to Perisher in over 15 years...can you get to the Pleasant View Trail from the BC Terminal or do you have to get to the top of the Pleasant Valley Chair?

Getting between BC and front valley is a bugger going either way. Not much fun getting from the top of the quad back to mid station either - I keep my skis well waxed and can glide the whole way if nobody cuts me off but M12 on his renters has to push the last 100 metres uphill.

The top of Pleasant View appears to be uphill of BC terminal according to the trail map. Pleasant View and the trail to Guthega off the bottom of the Early Starter chair merge together around the bottom of The Screw.

Although it does look like you can get through the trees to a fair way down Pleasant View if you keep going past Pony Ride.

Depends how much snow there is and if they pack down a trail (its awfully flat in a few spots)
They've been grooming down from there a few times in past seasons.
