I'm having a last minute dillema loading the bag. I'll be in Queenstown and Wanaka for two weeks. Are conditions likely to be on the softer side (favoring the Sir Francis Bacons) or a little icy (Enforcer 100s)?

**edited to make clear the enforcers were 100**

No idea what the weather will be like but you can’t go wrong with the enforcers.

SFBs likely to be overkill. Go the Enforcers (93)

From personal experience over several August trips, its often not that deep on the main trails ariund Qtiwn & Wanaka. Way Off piste (BC) would usually be quite different. But not main trails.

They tend not to get slush in Aug. Not like our hills. So quite often youre not benefitting from the extra width. Its all about balance. I’ve been on 83mm UF for 10 years but looking at adding a second ski in the mid 90s for touring with skins and softer condition on piste.

But I hear you - its a big call - might depend how much you want gear/weight to lug through airports? Check in & XRay? Size of car in NZ? Also how much your airline charges for an extra bag? (for Air NZ it was cheaper to book an extra bag if you book it online before you go).

Then there’s the forecast, if big dumps are predicted do you go wider? (If you venture well off piste then probably - if you stay in everyones tracks the puste can soon return to ‘packed powder’ so probably ‘no’.

    Is that a help??
