Often, our "powder" does not respond well to powder technique.
This is usually the moment that the snow stops coming down.
What is the method you adopt to keep the fun cumming ?
You can use the extra power of top turning to avoid toppling.
For a start, your skis must leave the snow and then reenter it in your direction of body progression.
This is straight down the fall line if you have no speed to speak of.
The trick is in avoiding a jump turn.

Oh well. I had hoped that he would be bored with talking to himself all winter.

Thanks for at least reading of the progress of the The Project all summer.
Your comments will be invaluable in fine tuning the instruction.
Please post pics of your consequent improvement this season.

This video is of all the people I helped improve with Whole Body last season! If you don't ski with Whole Body technique you're doing yourself a disservice.

So your tips must enter the unyielding "powder" first, AND pointing directly downhill. .
But only a cat can turn in the air without a base to turn against.
This base is the tails still in the snow as you lift into the air after platforming and poling up.
Upper arm rotates towards the new turn and STOPS just as the skis come free.
Tips engage, followed by a "slice" by driving your skis forward, which produces the necessary pressure change towards the tails.
If you are going to break a ski, it will happen now :(

Jet turns and Punching sort of work.

But they use the naughty naughty body english of which you speak..
My gal does wal on untracked crust. She says "If I can stand on top of it, I can ski on top of it".
No edging at all, and just at the right speed that breaking through tips her right over and back upright. :)

That is the realm of an expert skier.
Ezi skiers get short cuts to effective technique despite handicaps of unsprung knee joints and limited mountain access.
Many consider a midweek an extended snow holiday.
So we do not teach the futile American technique of dividing the turn into small and slow increments.
Or the rubber legs Austrian technique of maximum rate ninety degree jumps until clear of the crust. Powpowpowpow.
The exercise we specify involves no ski engagement in the top of the turn. (contrary to every other turn we teach.)
It is done on good surfaces so it becomes automatic on difficult pistes.
No windscreen wiping ! Your skis land directly down the fall line and you attempt to drive them STRAIGHT in spite of angulation tending to bring them around too fast.
Students are encouraged to shout " Down, down ! " at each landing :)
