At a glance, Mount Lofty SA?
Mount Lofty, a bit too lofty.
I've found the spot, short listed three regions and a few likely spots in each. Found it in my least likely group. No chance for me to get this location without a check of the climate stats though. Been through the area twice but I wouldn't have been paying attention to the names either time, first was too young and second a bit too boozy.

That high spring rainfall relative to winter tends to indicate a longitudinal placement more in line with the alpine areas, as opposed to way out west. The low seasonal range definitely indicates a more coastal climate—I'm thinking Yarra Ranges.

Apparently it's got sunshine hours too! Excellent find. Such a rare gem in this country.
