Question Why has Mt. Buffalo stopped reporting snow depth and XC ski trail grooming status in 2021?

Why has Mt. Buffalo stopped reporting snow depths and XC ski trail grooming status in 2021?
All we have is the snow camera at Cresta to get some indication of how much snow there is . I still want to XC ski at Mt. Buffalo even if PV are seemingly becoming anti Nordic skiing at Mt. Buffalo.

PV has been anti-winter sports for years. There's a reason they made it difficult for a Cresta rebuild. The Mt Buffalo Ski School facebook page isn't a bad source of information though.

One of my guitar students just came back from Mt. Buffalo. He camped at Lake Catani hut with friends for 5 days and skied the Reservoir road ( 30 cms deep cover), The Horn Road etc. He told me that they got 5 cms of fresh snow last night and all cars were fitting chains down to Cresta from The
Cathedral saddle.
All 2 WD were fitting chains from Dingo Dell onwards.
I am going up there later next week i.e Thursday next week . The snow on the Horn road should hang on a bit longer.
There is no grooming being done . It would seem only one person is clearing the road and removing snow and fallen trees. Parks Vic. have almost given up making Mt. Buffalo a XC ski location.

Dingo Dell got some snow last night. The Cresta snow cam. is not working. I suggest more snow might fall before Tuesday morning.

Because there is no mechanism for them to do so. There is no website and they are not part of Snow Victoria.

The snow cameras when they are working are better than nothing. I have not XC skied at Mt. Buffalo this year. Not many people would have even though they had full cover in late July 2021.

Late July and early August at Mt Buffalo this year. A quick trip down to Rollasons Falls after a weekend on the plateau skiing. It was windy on The Horn summit but it gave a front seat view of a storm coming in from the SW

Thanks for the photos. That is a lot of snow at the Horn road Picnic area where the wall is buried next to the "Turn area " sign. I wished I could have been there.

@beefa skiing and I decided it was either Mt. Buffalo or Mt. No 3 refuge hut ( where I had hidden a supply drop) for our in between lock downs No. 5 and 6 ski trip. The latter location was selected .
