    What's everyone's plans?

I am thinking of taking the kids later in the year maybe late aug or Sept holidays if the season holds out. Seems tricky to get tickets this year though. That might be the blocker!

Got the small matter of a birth to get out of the way in early July, estimate start skiing in mid-August, hoping there’s good snow in September.

Yes. It’s just a question of ‘how often’ (depends on what Perisher come up with regarding passes and pricing!).

Well have 5 weeks worth of accommodation booked. Now just need to see what Perisher offers in terms of lift passes if the season pass is pulled.

A very thoughtful and generous person residing here, out of the blue, offered me a wonderful accommodation solution for the season, which hopefully I’ll be able to use for BC forays.
I feel it’s unlikely I’ll be skiing Thredbo this year unless they offer the single ride BC access Kosi Express option this season.
I plan to be Covid antisocial.
Thank you kind human, you know who you are.

Depends when (and if) Tassie opens its border. Vague hope is that I will make it to Hotham for a few days around the BC fest in early September but many moons need to align before that can happen.... Might just have to swallow my pride and better judgement and ski Ben Lomond snow permitting.

Probably not. We had planned on getting across to NZ and having a crack at heliskiing but with income supply taking a hit, I’ve decided to go back to work until world is less crazy.
I hadn’t planned on going back to work but an opportunity at a very different and exciting place has drawn me back in.

I have received mother's permission to get the kids an additional three day school holiday in August, which will allow for a midweek trip.
Other than that I'll spend the odd two-day adventure on zero days notice. If it happens to dump snow one afternoon and I can get a lift pass for the next day, I'll be in the car.

I had that same kind offer as @Untele-whippet.

Hope to do a couple of days inbounds, but yeah, BC for me I think, partly money, partly the crowd avoidance until Im sure.

it is, my other half, Phd student and uni lecture, all casuals let go across a lot of universities. not eligible for any assistance, so sadly things like snow trips are off until things improve, fortunately main income is still solid, just no luxuries for a while.

Waiting for a verdict on the club lodge situation.

First booking is late July - it would have to be quite a different landscape/vibe by then.

Sadly not a lot of love for higher education from this governing lot, unless its prive schools, but back to the topic, we might get a few weekend camping or hiking trips done, but also a shame that Selwyn isnt opening, as that would have been the only lifted ski option for us this season. and i bet it will be a great season with many not being able to get down there

This is the postive that I am hoping for. Less crowds etc.

I hadn't bought a season pass, was not planning many days on the hill and was hoping for a discounted Mtn collective pass this year.

But I paid the $49 deposit for an epic pass last week, and will see what happens with that.

Either way I am likely to get more days in than I planned, and financially it may end up as a win for me specifically.

Wow, they’re still selling the Epic Pass?!
    I’m surprised.

I am very interested to hear what Perisher is doing. Their approach will form part of my decision making process of where and when.

Had an offer of accom in Wanaka yesterday if we can get there also, so many options on the table. Still haven’t decided whether to credit my season pass for Thredders or get the cash back.

Plan is simple, use the money I would have spent in season tickets to buy whatever passes Thredbo have on offer, and Ski back country the rest of the time.

I got a couple of theories on this
    1. agree with yours
    2. Thredbo season passes holders thinking that Perisher will honour the season pass "unlimited" structure.. ( a couple of people I know did this)

Yep and 2 simply wont happen IMO, as with the epic pass you don't know where the person is skiing. Tens of thousands of passes that all could be used at Perisher or all ar Falls or Hotham or a split...

Too many variables and there will be limits to visitor numbers and getting a weekend in August will be hard... if there is an additional cost for getting the day tickets, we will know in 14 days

Buller so far is saying season passes are valid, but no details how they can be used.

I have a few different answers for this:
    • Probably - For a BC trip, either with Let's Split of MSC.
    • Hopefully, but looking less likely - for a trip with my son to Perisher in August. Accommodation is booked but refundable, but if Discovery classes aren't running it's a no-go
    • Hopefully - a solo trip to Hotham at some point.
    • Finally, if all else fails I will be taking young Mr 4 to Baw Baw for some fun sliding.
