    Morning all

Question for the regulars -- roughly speaking, at sort of wind speed do you start seeing lifts at Buller go on wind hold?

There's a chance I'm getting up there Friday (yes, next week would be better), but forecasts are showing winds of anywhere from 35-70km/hr.

    Cheers

It depends on the wind direction not just speed and now they have some lifts open to lower elevations you can avoid it easier.
Lydia chair, Bull Run, Wombat etc.
And likely it wont blow 70k wind all day so it doesnt shut lifts for the day.

    And
35k wind at Buller we call a light breeze
    70 k a stiff breeze
    100 k is a wild ride.

Thanks. I usually head for Fed, Bull run etc if they're open anyway. Northerly winds, so you reckon stick southside if it gets a bit brisk and we should be fine?

Don't care too much about the breeze itself -- just want to make the most of my time there really.
