I was there around the same time Mark, from around 12-45 to 3-45. Had some fun ones for how small it was, inconsistent 1-2ft, but as you said, it picked up to 2ft+ later in the afternoon. I got out about half hour after the southerly hit, was just north of Mactier st.

Hey all, here's a few shots from Tas at a little point on the north coast, probably the most consistent break on the most inconsistent coast of Tas as far as I know. Mostly wind slop though I think from NW fronts.

Fun little waves down at Bondgae this morning 3-4' faces (1-2' on the wanchor scale). After a week out of the water, it certainly seemed a little colder.

It's picked up from early this morning Taxman. easy 6-8ft faces now, although inconsistent. So that's 3-4ft

Left the water around 9:00 am; got to do some work occasionally. Enjoy it, I'm inland for the weekend, but might get a chance to cycle around Canberra on Sunday morning (or Canberra to Goulburn if I'm feeling keen).

1 foot at Bondi on Saturday, and 3-4 foot at Bronte Sunday, with a few 5 footers from time to time.

Got caught inside and worked a couple of times...ouch. One pretty much right on my head. That cut the session short.

Very nice this morning a Bondage apart from wind chill; felt colder than my cycle around Canberra yesterday at -2c. Not going to call size, but the last wave I caught was a solid shoulder high on the take-off and kept up nicely all the way into the beach for a good 100m + ride.

Very solid 4-5 foot yesterday at Bronte...maybe even 3 foot on the smaller ones, but matched by occasional 6 foot clean up sets that sure got me!

Just like last weekend after two complete clean ups I gave it away after a shorter session than normal. The second clean up set, where I was the furthest out surfer maybe 100 metres off the beach, but I JUST missed out on getting under the lip...dragged me along the bottom on occasion at least 2/3rds of the way to the shore. I took the wrong board, which is great for 2-3 foot, but is just too foamed up to get deep enough on duck dives on a day like that.

It looks much the same today although a tad smaller.

Went new board hunting yesterday, something like this (7' x 22.5" x 3" - plenty of float for my 90kg + lump of ballast):

    Test driving this week.

Meanwhile, surf at Cronulla yesterday nice fun size, waist to chest high, but a bit bumpy with the SW winds.

I would have put5 it at 3-4 foot yesterday. Surfed Maroubra which was a tad smaller but a tad cleaner. Didn't have much fun, frankly. Surfed like a goose.

I have to admit Taxman as a 44 year old bloke I'm loving the benefits of extra foam (except when it gets bigger, see above). My "go to" board is 6'9" x 21.5" x 2 7/8". I'll likely go a tad shorter when I replace it, but I doubt I'll be losing any volume. Just great for that 2-3 foot range so common in Sydney.

Knights camera on Swellnet looks great today. Wish I was down there. Good size and off shore breeze. The wedge setup is working well, good sized swell driving into the cliff then coming off almost 90° to the beach creating some of the better wedges as it meets with the next on coming wave. Associated report, follow to camera from here http://www.swellnet.com.au/reports/victor-harbor/daily

    Edit:

This camera pans alot and has focussing issues but gives a good from view from south to north of The Dump, Chiton Rocks, Boomers and the cliffs at Knights in the Swellnet cam. Nice swell lines stretching way off shore at times.

Nice surf at Cronulla this morning, chest heigh on the sets. Too many grommets in the water with school holidays and I'm not sure they know the meaning of dropping-in either. Demoed a Jackson quad-fish; nice and loose and definately easier to drop into steeper waves. Deposit now paid on birthday present.

We've been getting some pretty good waves on the north coast, not that i've had much chance to get out and hit them up, but did take a couple of shots last week while checking out a few different spots.

Is that first photo there the Pass/Clarkes or Broken Head parkmonkey? Decent crowd there at Lennox too.

Had some fun waves on Saturday (2-3 foot range) and some fun smaller waves (1-2 foot, and closer to 1 than 2 most of the time) on Sunday, both days at Bondi.

Surfed broken yesterday arvo was lots of fun but super crowded, got dropped in on, on my first 3 waves, wasn't to bad as the was a pretty good vibe in the water everyone was happy. Sometimes i just don't put up with that shitt. Mate paddled out in boardies and was a little cold but lasted the 2hr of a late arvo session, waters still really good.

Yesterday Maroubra seemed pretty good, plent of chest/shoulder high sets. Bondage today was just dribble., waist high at best.

Bondi could have been good this morning if it wasn't close out central. All the sand the council pushed back into the ocean has pretty much filled in any channels. Overhead faces on the sets (2-3'?). Maroubra should be okay.

Fun in the water this morning at sth steyne- 2'+ or so in sets, pretty neat on nice banks with an offshore breeze that make the walk home freezing!

3 foot waves at Maroubra on Saturday and 2 foot at Bondi on Sunday. Super crowded at Bondi on Sunday and really hard to get a decent wave. Surfed 2 hours and maybe got 10 half decent waves.

I really need to get my surfing back up to a decent standard. Baby on the way might make that difficult but I hope to get back surfing a min of 4 sessions a week as soon as I can.

I can't believe the crowd in the second video [IMG]
Its been busy out there but i've only surfed in crowds like that at the pass.
Willsy's a good bloke, its been getting hard work surfing a few of these spots with some of the backpackers really getting in the way out there.

Those crowds are ridiculous. It sort of defeats the purpose for living there. I'd be getting ridiculously frustrated out there. Indeed, I'd probably try to find a less crowded but less good peak and surf that.
