GFS determs throwing up a doozy 21-24 Aug, not far off EC Ensembles prognosis IMO.
...and because determs are somewhat irrelevant this far out, GFS Ensembles:

It’s all about New Zealand and southern wa atm. Be nice to see some of these fronts peak Over the south east

Even the rocks have softened & turned to slush in southern WA at present.

Thirty metres from end of gravel driveway, 4WD truck sunk to chassis (kids can usually walk under it) first thing this morning, on laterite caprock no less.

And it hailed frequently during the four hour extraction process....

This is a dumb question but on the tool bar slide it has surface and you can move to a desired elevation, however if you pick say perisher valley does it automatically choose surface at that elevation or should i slide to 1500mtrs

Not one to claim I know my stuff here but EC and GFS both showing something spiky coming through the Bight on the 21st? Looks like something of a Bight early peaker with a potential sting in the tail?

Not looking as juiced up as yesterday but still something there.

Meanwhile, at longer range, GFS has something on the brew for the weekend after. Pinch of salt and all that, but maybe next weekend will be the precursor to something more substantial.

AAO/SAM looks to be erring negative, too...

Gut feel is that the 21-24th will slide SE (perhaps with a 10-15cm gain) opening up the window behind it (24-28th) for the Real McCoy.
Top ups withh neutral to small gains is better than thaw or lots of rain. Entering September with 1.6-2.0m of snow on the ground at Spencers is not bad place to be. If 24-28th produces a decent gain than things will be set very nicely for Spring.......... other than the lack of people. Hopefully something gives with COVID and some can start making it back for some turns come September.
