Hi all, just want to throw this out to see if i get any bites. I'm going to be living at Falls Creek for the season but i was a tad late in sercuring a job! I'm a 32yr old male and will be looking for any sort of work, be it part/full time or casual
Im a qualified Fitter and Turner by trade but have also had allot of experience in hospitality and have a current Vic RSA.
I'm not sure how hard it is to get work once the season starts but if anyone has some pointers for me that would be great.
I guess if nothing happens i'm gonna have allot of time to board so will see you all on the mountain somewhere

Just before the school holidays start in late June a lot of places will start hiring casual staff, restaurant's, pubs etc, it might only be weekends but if you can get good solid work for 2 really busy days it gives you heaps of time during the week to ski.
Just get out there and bang on doors just before the holidays start and again once when the school holidays start.

door knock the lodges and restaurants. be prepared to do kitchen hand and cleaning work or wait/bar work. lodges often like to have tradies on the staff who can help with mid season maintenance crises.

if you don't get work early in the season , try again later - staff leave for one reason during the season

the lift company and resort management each have their own mechanics. not sure if they take on extras for the season.

there is a new company operating the oversnow accommodation transfer service this year - 4Site. I don't know if they will just use resort management mechanics or their own

Check out fallscreek.com.au/jobads - there is an advertisement for 4Site who have taken over the contract on Oversnow Transportation. They're looking for plant operators, cat operators, shuttle drivers etc - Good variety of hours and friends who have worked in transport previously have had plenty of opportunities to get out on the hill. Given your trades experience you shouldn't really have a problem securing a job with them.
