Serious amounts of rain now....

Tokyo missing the really heavy stuff for the moment.

Just to the north of Shingu in Mie prefecture, Owase has copped 292.5mm in 4 hours (90.5mm in the last hour) and 383.5mm in the past 7 hours.

Shingu has had 830.5mm of rain yesterday and today.

Shingu topped out at 888.5mm of rain, over 21st and 22nd October.

The reinforcing tropical systems also look quite formidable for the week ahead (for cyclogenisis).

The fallout from the typhoon: 5 dead

Strong winds had been observed across a wide swath of the country, including in the town of Nagi, Okayama Prefecture, where a gust of 164.5 kph was recorded. Kobe also saw strong winds, registering gusts of up to 143.3 kph.

Looks like Shingu ended with the most rain, totaling 890mm

Ta, I figured WPAC as an acronym but Lan had me stumped until looking at the weather data elsewhere where Lan was obviously just a storm name.

Former super typhoon Lan now a V/deep upper-level cold core
beast 946mb cyclone crossing the pacific. It will ramp up the
snow season in the US in a few.days.

Massive and glorious.
