Yes, when they had problems a few months ago, is when I decided not to renew for another year.

Their forums are up ... found this posted at 11pm last night:
"We have had a major database hardware failure tonight. We're in the office, and working on it."

Bloody hell, a major website down for over 16hrs??? That is shocking, they will really want to have a look at their backup and contingency plans!

Oh and I'll still renew. WZ Silver is a fantastic service, and their website (when it actually bloody works) is very good, even if their forums are full of stuffy upthemselves pseudo intellectuals, who can't handle being told so [IMG] (no they have not let me back yet and I am very upset about it [IMG] , well I must be I keep talking about it!)

Well a nice upgrade this morning from weatherzone, I just wish it had more to do with an approaching cold front in winter rather than a hardware meltdown!

    Weatherzone

    Saturday 11:42 EDT

Due to a catastrophic hardware failure Weatherzone is temporarily offline.

Our technical staff are working to correct the problem.

    We apologise for any inconvenience.

Yeah ... I told a couple of brats that they were a couple of brats, then I pissed off one of their less inteligent moderators somehow ... I've got no idea what I actually did, but it must have been really really bad cause he refused to tell me what it was ... I don't think I slept with his sister because I can't recal sleeping with an Irish chick, but you never know ... I got very pissed on certain occasions back then?

a little inside gos on WZ.....

The current site was developed for in house only and was so good that they opened it up for the public. As such it has troubles whenever a big weather event occurs (ie the WA storms).

I am currently beta testing their new site which seems to work really well with a few extra little goodies.

    soon , very soon

I think the beta weatherzone is not a bad site at all, better than the current public one with some useful extra stuff on it.

Hope we see it for the public soon enough.
